Choose the group before you start

Big Walk is a cooperative adventure built around talking and teamwork. It does not offer random matchmaking, so organize a group you know before opening a long-running journey.

  1. Bring at least two players; the maximum is twelve.
  2. Pick one person who can reliably return as the host.
  3. Use the in-game voice or text chat. The game is designed around its changing communication limits.
  4. Play from separate rooms or locations when possible so outside conversation does not bypass those limits.

Run a two-minute compatibility check

Confirm the basics before anyone spends time troubleshooting an invitation.

  1. Check that every player is using a released platform.
  2. Update the game. The first two numbers of each player’s version must match; the third may differ.
  3. Decide whether friends will join from a platform friends list or with a Join Code.
  4. If a Mac App Store player is joining, plan to use a Join Code because that version does not support Game Center.
